Duties of the Money order Staff.
Superintendent.- Supervision of all counter work both as regards issuing and paying money orders; the issue of all Indian orders and Hindustani interpretation; attending the counter when the two clerks are otherwise engaged. Fixing the rates of Exchange on issuing and paying orders; Keeping General Cash Book; issue of cheques, and see to all daily payments into the bank; writing up daily the Counter Book.
Orders issued, orders paid, Imperial and Local Postal notes books. Keeping rough and fair Ledger and subsidiary Imperial and Local Postal notes books for Coast Ports, and other Miscellaneous books; drafting all correspondence on money order business; rendering monthly, quarterly and yearly accounts and balance sheets with countries concerned; checking and signing all lists of money orders despatched from Hong Kong. Keeping a strict watch on the financial business of the department so that no loss be incurred in the fluctuations of exchange by the prompt despatch and receipt of remittances.
Second Clerk.- Attending the Counter on issue and payment of money orders; making out and despatching lists of all money orders issued in Hong Kong. In charge of stock of Imperial and Local Postal notes; keeping register of Local Postal notes; keeping record book of all outward money orders; in charge of all money order forms and stationery, fair-copying correspondence and general office work.
